Design Process
Completed in 2011, the Beauregard High School library renovation included the design and construction of a 2,500 sf addition at the south end of the existing one-story school building.  The goals of the client, the Lee County Board of Education, was to replace the existing, segmented space with one that would give the look and feel of a collegiate library through an open floor plan.  The plan included a large central reading room and cyber cafe which provide a variety of learning environments as well as auxiliary spaces such as a conference room, student work room, offices, and storage at the perimeter.  Although not a large space, design considerations ensured that ample lighting and visibility would be provided as window locations and interior materials help facilitate clear lines of sight within the library and to the outside.

Tasks Completed
As a member of the project design team, contributions included design of the circulation desk, design of interior elevations and details, selection of interior finishes, and production of construction documents.
